The Greatest Tourism Project in Benin“Presidential Guest Houses & Hotel”

“Foras” announced this project for accommodating the honorary guests of the state in its capital Porto Novo in the Jasan Zonmay District located on the banks of the lake (Porto Novo) which comes down to the wishes of Government of Benin. The project comprised of a residential district and a five-star hotel in addition to the supporting facilities and services that enhances the infrastructure of tourism business as well as ecological and health care tourism. The project is expected to contribute to the economic development of this central area. Benin is endowed by natural and aesthetic options such as large lakes, valleys and hunting parks . It also has beautiful parks and forests.
The estimated project cost is approximately USD 22.759 million. It falls within the state strategy that stems from the state declaration on the means to boost the state role in the special program of developing Porto Novo town. The project is expected to be implemented during the coming two years and incorporate some renowned trademarks.
The strategic location of the project is considered as one of the biggest advantages, which emphasizes its importance as it is located on the heart of the capital city "Porto Novo", Stems from the Porto Novo Bridge and ends at the project site.
The Chief Executive Officer of “Foras benin” Mr. Saad Bin Ahmed pointed out that the project comprises of an integrated village divided into three sectors; the sector of the presidential villas that is comprised of 12 separate villas elegantly built on a total area of 5,648 m2 that is expected to be implemented in accordance with the actual requirements of the state guests. Each villa is comprised of a main suite, an auxiliary suite and 3 double rooms, as well as a living room and a small kitchen, in addition to a swimming pool facing the lake. The second sector is comprised of the clubs area including Cipar child club, family club and a restaurant at the lake besides the workers residential area. The area of this section is 1,142 m2. The third section is comprised of a five-star hotel. The hotel consists of 7 floors with 130 rooms and a ground floor and basement.
The total area of the hotel is 11,358 m2 in addition to the amusement activities and the special areas to serve the visiting businessmen. It includes attractive swimming pools and a private beach. It also includes a reception area, commercial shops and two restaurants as well as a café and car parking area in addition to the security and health care services.
Mr. Saad further added that the feasibility study of this project is carried out by (SETAP) a company which has an extensive experience in this type of projects. The company completed the preparation of the feasibility study and provided architectural designs for the project. In this context, the project is ready for launching and will be announced for marketing during the coming days.
It is worth mentioning that Benin government had shown its interest in concluding long-term contracts extending up to ninety years for the lease of the presidential villas with all the supporting facilities that the project provides. The project calls for using tourism as an industry, a culture, and a knowledge source in order to diversify tourism product, that commensurate with the requirements of the tourism market and attract the attention of investors to the Republic of Benin and promote tourism in accordance with legal and ethical criteria as well as providing constant new job opportunities to a large number of workforce which would contribute to improving the level standard of living for their families.
